Need Gum Gone? Chewing gum removal is a sticky business, whether it’s on your concrete, parking lot or the side of a building, gum eventually changes into a smudge on your concrete. But before that point, pedestrians and customers walking into a store or office will step on the chewing gum and get it in all over your carpets, rugs and entryway mats. Then it’s forced deep into the carpet fibers and into the porous surface of concrete or asphalt, just waiting for another person to step in it again, to carry it somewhere else in your building.
We are happy to offer gum removal as one of our commercial pressure washing services in Frisco TX. Find information about our methods below:
The best methods for removing chewing gum from concrete depends on how long the gum has been stuck there and level of penetration into the concrete surface. If the gum was left recently and it hasn’t penetrated the surface yet, we might be able to remove it by covering it with ice until the gum freezes, then scraping it off with a metal putty knife.
The ice forces the chewing gum to freeze into a more forgiving substance compared to a gooey and stringy glob. Once that happens, we slide a putty knife or scraper right under the gum. Then we move the scraper slowly under the gum and the entire piece should then peel right off the concrete.
The above process is only possible with gum that is brand new.
When we remove chewing gum that has turned black, or is already smashed down into the concrete surface, we use a hot water power washer with the heat turned up to 200 Degrees to melt the chewing gum. For this type of gum removal service, we won’t use very high pressure because that might ruin the surface of the concrete!
Our crew never uses any more pressure than needed to clean concrete. These surfaces can be damaged much easier than most people think, especially if they’re only a couple of years old. Concrete can take up to 100 years to cure. That is why we always use hot water and the least amount of pressure possible for our professional chewing gum removal service.
To completely remove gum from concrete and other surfaces we use specially designed hot water power washing tools and professional-grade soaps that enable us to clean the concrete without resulting in any damages.
Using special 200 degree hot water power washers and low pressure, we safely remove gum and surface dirt while protecting the surface. Our method will also eliminate bacteria and germs that are found in gum on concrete.
